For the first few after you get your braces put on or adjusted, eat soft foods to minimise pain from chewing, and as long as you have braces, you will also want to avoid foods that could damage your brackets or acidic drinks and foods, which will irritate your mouth sores.
The main thing you’ll notice after getting your braces on is that your teeth will start gradually moving into place, which is the reason you’re wearing braces.
How it Works

Preparation & Cleaning
Your appointment will take around an hour to an hour and a half at Long Hanborough Dental Practice, depending on your case. Your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and dried to ensure a strong, reliable bond.

Bracket Placement
A special bonding adhesive is applied to each tooth, and the brackets (small metal or ceramic squares) are carefully positioned and fixed in place. The adhesive is safe and may have a slightly unusual taste.
3.
Archwire Fitting
An archwire is then placed through the brackets to guide tooth movement and is secured in place using small elastic bands, beginning the process of straightening your teeth.
