Graduating, in 1984, from the best dental school north of the Tyne, Richard spent the first years of his working life mining rich seams of decay nestled in the shade of the cooling towers of first Slough, then Didcot. Now having been in Long Hanborough for almost 22 years, Richard is content to be known as the antique of the practice, though he is no Chippendale. A lifelong Manchester United and Wigan Warriors fan, his slow northern migration stopped over thirty years ago, when he arrived in West Oxfordshire. Despite having lived over half his life in the county, he accepts he will always be a “blowin,” and he seeks to provide empathic and compassionate dental care for the local community in the evening of his career.
Nikhil graduated from the University of Bristol in 2018. The following year he completed his Dental Foundation Training, as part of the London Deanery. He is committed to further learning and constantly keeps up to date with new techniques. Nikhil is currently completing a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry, allowing him to effectively provide aesthetic and minimally invasive dentistry, including reconstruction with white fillings, tooth whitening, veneers, crowns, bridges and dentures. I graduated from Birmingham Dental Hospital in 2019 and have worked in general practice since. I regularly attend courses allowing me to keep up to date with new techniques. I enjoy many aspects of Dentistry and especially have a keen interest in cosmetic work. I have completed a year-long post graduate course in Advanced Operative Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry.
I enjoy working with patients, taking the time to understand their needs and feel that my friendly and empathetic nature allow me to build strong rapports with them.
In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit with regular classes in yoga, boxing and Zumba. I love travelling and spending time with my friends and family.
Growing up with gappy and missing teeth made me feel incredibly self-conscious. After getting braces, I was finally able to smile with confidence—and that experience inspired me to help others achieve the same transformation. I became a dental professional to support people on their own journeys to a healthier, more confident smile.
I have a particular passion for restorative and aesthetic dentistry. There’s something incredibly rewarding about fixing broken teeth and creating beautiful smiles—it’s what keeps me coming back every day.
Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m immersed in nature, whether it’s hiking woodland trails or standing on top of a mountain. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, staying active, and discovering great food.
My favourite film is Fight Club, and while I like to think I’m brave, I’ll admit I’ve got a bit of a phobia when it comes to sharks. And maybe, just maybe, a little fear of being too powerful…
I qualified from Sheffield University in 2010 and since then I have gained extensive experience in General Practice. I love making every dental visit friendly, relaxed and comfortable for my patients and I am very much a family dentist, treating patients of all ages.
I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of general dentistry and am especially focused on building rapport and strong relationships with my patients. My aim is not to provide ‘single tooth dentistry’ but to help you look after your oral health as a whole and I am passionate about a prevention-based approach to suit individual needs as well as minimally invasive dentistry. I enjoy keeping with latest development in dentistry by attending courses.
In my spare time, I am a huge foodie, I very much enjoy trying new food places and my idea of a perfect Saturday is a food market followed by a few hours in a cosy coffee spot reading and sipping a cortado.
